Introduction
This doc will walk you through how to use TechRO via the EMDECS mobile app
Download the App
Download the app via the App store or Google Play, depending on your device.
On Apple it will look like this
On Android it will look like this
Using the App
Signing in
Once downloaded you will sign in with the EMDECS username associated with the tech, this can be a shared account, or they can be assigned to each tech.

You will only need to sign in when first launching the app, you will remain signed in unless you choose to sign out, even when closing the app
Once putting in your username and password click sign in
After Signing in you will be prompted to select which module you will use. For TechRO we will select Repair Order
You will then be prompted to put in your badge, this is specific to each tech. Then click go.

Similarly to the username, the app will remember your Badge Number and keep you logged in
Repair Orders
After putting in your badge you will be brought to the assigned work screen.
From here you can see:
- the last action completed, in this scenario Parker is just starting his day, so the last action was "End Day"
- The last job that was worked on, if you wanted to resume that job you can click "Continue"
- The list of jobs that have been assigned to Parker
- The search unit option, this would allow Parker to work on units not assigned to him
In this scenario we will select option 3, GO, to work on unit 1004
After selecting the unit you are going to work on you will be taken to the work required page, here you can see the work that has been assigned to this unit, and the clock on the right. Clicking on the clock will indicate that you are starting work on that labor line.
After Clicking on the clock, you will be brought to this screen, to minimize this screen and get to the notes or parts, click the arrow to slide this window away
This will allow you to alter the reason/task codes, add parts and enter notes
We'll add parts by clicking on the + under Parts
This will bring up the parts search, from here, type in the part number, key in the quantity and click add
Once added you will be brought to the previous screen, you can add additional parts as needed. Now let's click on the arrow to bring the sliding menu back out
If we need to add additional work to the RO that wasn't assigned by the manager, we can click the + next to labor
Using the drop down labeled Other Work, we an search using keywords or VMRS codes to find labor that needs to be added. To add the labor and start the work, click the clock. You can also use the cancel button in the top left to back out of this menu.
In the previous screen you can also add internal or external notes, as well as update any readings.
Once all the work is completed and any readings are updated, you can indicate the work is complete by clicking ready.
After you have completed a job, your status is set to "idle" indicating you are in between jobs, from here you can click GO to start on a new RO, click Lunch to start a break, click end shift to put an end to your daily timecard, or if there are other jobs set in your corporation you can click Indirect Activities
Once clicking on indirect activities you will be brought to the list of activities set, click select to start a timer on non RO related work.
Once done for the day, click End Shift
