Java Security Error: Application Blocked by Java Security

Java Security Error: Application Blocked by Java Security

Due to Java Security settings, customers using our Gen 1 system (Forms) may experience Java Security errors (examples below) when attempting to access our Gen 1 / Forms system:

If you receive a "Failed to validate certificate" error this can be corrected by uninstalling Java and installing Java version 8 update 341 or older. Our Forms / Gen 1 system is not compatible with newer versions of Java.

We encourage any customers using our Gen 1 / Forms system to migrate to our new Gen 2 / Kona system. The latest version of EMDECS does not require Java. Please contact our customer experience team for further assistance with upgrading your EMDECS experience.

Please visit https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/javase/javase8u211-later-archive-downloads.html#license-lightbox then look under Java SE Runtime Environment 8u341 then click on the download link for Windows x86 Offline Installer:

If you continue to receive Java Security errors after installing version 8 update 341, please complete the following steps:
  1. Search for and open the Configure Java app in Windows.

  2. Select the Security tab and click on Edit Site List.

  3. Click on the Add button.

  4. If you are using the PACCAR / DAF Connect system, the following website locations need to be entered:

If you are a direct customer in North America, please enter the website locations below instead:

Hit enter or click Add again each time you enter a new location to add a new line.

  5. Each time you enter a URL, a warning will pop-up regarding using an HTTP location. Click Continue each time you see this pop-up window.

  6. In the example pictured below, I added all of the website locations listed in step 4:

  7. Click OK at the bottom of the screen when you are done adding the website locations to your exception list.

  8. Select "Advanced", scroll down to "Performed signed code certificate revocation checks on "Do not check"

  9. Sign in to EMDECS again from scratch. A Security Warning will pop-up. Put a check next to "I accept the risk and want to run this application" and click Run.

  10. You will be able to sign in to EMDECS now:
