The EMDECS Service Board is configured to highlight units in red if there is a red tag or overdue PM / campaign. This brings required work to your attention and keeps the fleet moving and maintained on time!
If repair orders are not completed in EMDECS correctly, unnecessary duplicate repair jobs may be performed and your Service Board will not be accurate! Please share this information with your technicians to ensure they add required work to their repair orders.
After selecting a unit to work on in EMDECS, any required work will be listed as individual activity icons under IC Work Required (see image below). Make sure to click on each of these activity icons to add them to your repair order when you complete the jobs. If you skip this step, EMDECS will not remove the jobs from the work required list!
For example, if a technician completes a PM and adds their labor by clicking on More Work and selecting a PM Service Program, instead of clicking on PM Inspection from the work required list, the PM Inspection will remain listed under work required even after a PM was completed. The unit will remain red on the Service Board, and another technician may inadvertently complete the same PM a second time.
The same process needs to be followed for Campaigns. Make sure to click on the Campaign activity from the work required list when adding it to your repair order. This marks the campaign as being completed for the unit.
After clicking on activity icons under IC Work Required, they are moved to the right hand side. "No data to display" is listed under IC Work Required all required work has been added.
Next, complete your repair order as normal by clicking on the labor descriptions to complete PM forms, enter the 3 C's for work completed, etc., and enter parts used under the Parts tab. You can also use the More Work button to add additional labor activities to the repair order.
Following these steps will keep your Service Board up-to-date and avoid confusion and duplicate jobs!
