This short tutorial explains how technicians and shop managers can attach photographs to repair orders and estimates. This is useful if you need to share a picture of damage to get approval for your repair estimate or show before and after pictures of repair work, for example.
Technicians can attach images while creating their repair orders in EMDECS. After selecting a unit and adding a labor line, you will see a small camera icon to the right of the labor description. Click on the camera icon to attach images.
Click Choose file to select a file from your computer.
A window will pop up for you to select a file from your computer. Browse to the directory when your pictures are saved, select an image, and click Open.
Note - It is recommended to keep image files 5 MB or less. Larger files may take several minutes to upload.
Click Upload to attach the image. Your attached image will be displayed in the preview window.
If you have multiple images to attach, repeat these steps by choosing and uploading each of your images. Use the slider bar below the image preview to review your attached images.
Click OK at the bottom when you are done.
A counter of the number of attached images is displayed next to the camera icon. In the image below, (1) indicates there is one image file attached to the "Red Tag / Service Request" labor line.
You can upload multiple images to multiple labor lines in the repair order, as needed.
Service Managers can attach photographs to repair orders after the technician has marked the equipment “Unit Ready” or attach photographs to their repair estimates. The steps to attach images is identical.
To get started, open a repair order or an estimate, then click on the camera icon at the top of the Labor section.
